Individual Therapy

Ages 5 - 12 years
For our younger clients, I have created SpireTHERAPY Children’s Institute where our Therapists practice Play Therapy, Art Therapy and Bibliotherapy.
Here at Spire Therapy’s Children’s Institute, I have trained our Therapists in the SpireTHERAPY way, so each Therapist here can and will support and guide your child, adolescent or teen who is struggling with anxiety, social anxiety, emotional dysregulation, depression, mood disorders, PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD and ADHD, on their journey towards their best selves.
The office is specifically designed as a Play Therapy and Art Therapy room so the younger clients of SpireTHERAPY are in a most therapeutic environment that allows them to thrive!
SpireTHERAPY’s TRAINED THERAPISTS: I have personally trained the wonderful Therapists who work with the minor-aged clients of SpireTHERAPY’s Children’s Institute. So, they each espouse and utilize the same vision that I had when I started SpireTHERAPY in 2020, allowing your child to thrive with any Therapist that he or she is working with at SpireTHERAPY’s Children’s Institute!
At SpireTHERAPY’s Children’s Institute, we support children struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD.
While my approach is an integrative one, I am first and foremost a trained Play Therapist, and I train my Therapists to use these evidence-based techniques with your child. The Association of Play Therapy (APT) defines play therapy as “… a theoretical model … wherein trained play therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development. More simply put, child play therapy is a way of being with the child that honors their unique developmental level and looks for ways of helping in the ‘language’ of the child – play. Licensed mental health professionals therapeutically use play to help their clients, most often children ages three to 12 years, to better express themselves and resolve their problems.” See APT website https://www.a4pt.org/page/WhyPlayTherapy.
We routinely use Art Therapy and Bibliotherapy to support your child throughout their journey with us. When it is developmentally appropriate, I will integrate into my Play Therapy: ACT Therapy, DBT Skills, Positive Psychology, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and the Hakomi Method, which is mindfulness-centered somatic psychotherapy. I have adapted these theoretical approaches to match the incredibly powerful footprint that your amazing child brings to this life.
Having so many of these theoretical approaches in my toolbox allows me to adapt any of these, in whole or in part, to your own unique being, so we can all embark on this journey together towards your child’s best self so he/she/they can grow into the healthy and well-adjusted adolescent, teen and adult who is ready to take on the world!
The most important part to my approach is that we meet your child where your child is. I have adapted my approach, and have trained my Therapists to adapt their approach, based on where your child is in his/her/their development and emotional growth.
All life styles are welcome and should feel 100% safe in my office at all times. We routinely support and work with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community.
Our focus is your child, as the unique and beautiful child he/she/they is, period.

My approach is an integrative one. While we continue to use Play Therapy and Art Therapy techniques for your teen, I also incorporate a lot of my ideological approaches for my adult clients with my teens. To that end, we incorporate ACT Therapy, Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Mindfulness, and the Hakomi Method, which is mindfulness-centered somatic psychotherapy. I adapt these theoretical approaches to match the incredibly powerful footprint that your teen brings to this life.

The most important part to my approach is that I meet your teen where your teen is. I adapt my approach based on your teen’s unique being and the stage of life your teen is at, in the moment that we first meet. All life styles are welcome and should feel 100% safe in my office at all times. I routinely support and work with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. My focus is your teen, as a unique and beautiful person, period.
